Hi there,

We're just in the midst of such an evaluation so your presentation was quite helpful. One of the issues we're struggling with is to add a collaborative nature, social components to a Plone site we presently have.

Lots of crazy, interactive, collaborative, sharing ideas.. and we feel that Plone seems to move more in the more rigid, top down: content manager + large organization + many contributors working in fixed workflows + large amount of documents type of structure.

What I missed in your evaluation was a side-by-side type of SWOT analysis: what does Plone do better than Django and what not.. so one can better match needs versus the choice of a framework or a CMS.

Thanks Tim,

One of the nice things about this type of talk is that it created a lot of dialogue and discussion around both platforms (since most knew one platform or the other, but not necessarily both) and was a chance for two diverse Python communities to learn from each other. So give yourself plenty of time for Q&A :)

I look forward to hearing how this goes at your meeting!

(Sorry, we don't have any video)

Hello Brian,

Thanks a lot for the slides, they're great! I'm actually quite keen to reuse them for our Python User Group (http://www.nzpug.org). Just wondering if you've got a video of the presentation?

Thanks,
Tim
